”CGAP Financial Transparency Award” competition

"Finance for Development was the winner of the ”CGAP Financial Transparency Award”, a competition which promotes good practice in microfinance institutions financial disclosure based on compliance with IFRS and industry-specific guidelines.
The annual ”CGAP Financial Transparency Award” is designed to promote greater transparency in annual financial reporting by Microfinance Institutions (MFIs). Finance for Development was founded in 1997 as a savings and credit project (later Future Financial Institution Project) by Oxfam GB International Humanitarian Organization after the results of the survey conducted among the people affected by war and economic decline revealed unmet demand for financial resources.  The project was performed successfully and in 2002 registered as an independent entity. “Finance for Development” implements its credit activities based on the licence from the National Bank of Azerbaijan Republic and according to the founder's (Oxfam) policy framework. The scope of the organization's activities now covers 11 regions of the country and is growing in terms of area, borrowers and loan portfolio.
